Today was our first free day in Chiang Mai after four days in the jungle. We went on a mission to find a particular road we had driven down our first half hour in Chiang Mai. It had a ton of quaint shopping stores and a café that had Italian, Mexican, and American cuisine. It proved to be a tremendous undertaking, stressful and asking for help everywhere. The way Thai cities are structured has expanded my brain, because all logic for direction and reason for all three of us seemed to have dissipated at the beginning of the adventure. But, it was a fantastic workout. :)
Our American problem solving skills rearranged our priorities and put finding an internet café so as to find the street address for a particular store. On the way we found this particular road that we had been looking for, the bookstore for Elena, the jewelry shops for Brittney, postcards for me and for all of us dinner and a giant fantastic Sunday market!

It turned out to be a really fantastic day…
Tomorrow we leave on a night train for Bangkok. We’re there for a day and a half before our train ride down to Suritani, then to Ko Phagan. While we’re in BKK we’re going to be visiting Jim Thompson’s House, our travel agent, and poking around at any of the night markets (which have proven to be incredibly, incredibly cheap.) I don’t know when we’ll have internet again, and I apologize for the gaps between uploads…
Until next time, we love you all!
