Elena and I hunted and explored a large wing of the airport and stood for 20 minutes (all smelly and haphazardly made up from our escapade through test bottles of a cosmetics store) reviewing and deciphering (all by ourselves) the unique food system and various types of Asian meals to choose from.
We eventually chose to eat from Mushu2, to my now sort of shame, a couple of daring choices of Chinese food. In a Korean airport. In South Korea. I know, its now so apparent to me that sort of blasphemy, but at the time it was thrilling picking our meals and handing over Korean currency, excited when we had counted it all correctly.
Anyway, my meal consisted of fried rice and noodles with black bean sauce, a spicy cup of soup, spicy cabbage, and what I was to find out after finishing the meal: yellow sugared beets. Brittney on the other hand, was not so pleased at this new venture of using chopsticks with noodles and adapting her taste buds to foreign flavors.
Eventually we found forks, which made her a lot happier. She also tried a yellow beet, which will not be added to her list of edibles... but at least she tried it, and that's all that matters.
And we also found out: Elena is a badass at twirling noodles around her chopsticks. Who knew?

The last images I will post of the airport, it's just so refreshing after all the cramped spaces we've survived the last few days of travel. I know it's of no relevance to anyone reading this blog, but I have to write about it as far as remembering all the little things, the little comforts and the little things I have loved. I know this trip will be overwhelming and it will move so very fast. It's important to relish the small things, and this is one:
The airiness is comforting in a strange way.

Next I will be writing from Thailand whenever internet availability presents itself.
Until then, thanks for reading.
사랑과 축복을!
